I long to climb the hills again,
To fight the wind and face the rain,
To feel the sun upon my face,
And escape the cities pace.
To feel the weariness in my bones,
To find a place where I’m alone,
To see the sky clear and blue,
And never worry about the news.
To see the stars shine at night,
To have the feeling of what is right,
To pluck my fruits from the ground,
And know that I am never bound.
To see the horizon meet the sky,
To watch the world pass me by,
To seek out life bold and new,
And not worry about who’s suing who.
To seek the silence of the plain,
To smell the roses and stop the pain,
To see the fields vast and great,
And never worry about being late.
To look beyond the physical life,
To leave behind sorrow and strife,
To have the freedom to widely roam,
And feel as though I am truly home.
